The Ecolabelling Coordinating Council is an independent multi-stakeholder advisory body of the Ukrainian Type I ecolabelling program operating in accordance with ISO 14024.
The Council supports balanced stakeholder participation in the governance and development of the "Green Crane" ecolabelling program. It also provides oversight of the CAB's policy, objectives and performance.
Role and functions
The Ecolabelling Coordinating Council:
- provides oversight of the CAB's policy, objectives and performance;
- considers and approves draft environmental criteria before their adoption as standards of the program;
- supports stakeholder participation in the development and review of environmental criteria;
- considers matters related to the development and improvement of the ecolabelling program;
- contributes to maintaining the credibility, transparency and impartiality of the program.
Role and functions
The Council brings together representatives of different stakeholder groups, including:
- public authorities;
- research and academic institutions;
- industry and business associations;
- environmental organisations;
- consumer organisations;
- independent experts.
This multi-stakeholder composition helps ensure that different interests are represented when matters related to the ecolabelling program and its environmental criteria are considered.

Environmental criteria
Draft environmental criteria developed through TC 82 "Environmental Protection" and stakeholder consultation are submitted to the Ecolabelling Coordinating Council for consideration and approval before adoption.
This provides an additional level of stakeholder review within the development and revision process for the "Green Crane" ecolabelling program standards.
